Lena & The Slide Brothers

was formed in 2009 in Helsinki, Finland. Each member of the group has made their own contribution to the Finnish roots music scene for more than twenty years.

Their debut album "Turn it on" was released in June 2010 and it contains a wide range of American roots music styles. The blues and country music are there. You can also hear influences of soul, rock, bluegrass and gospel. Catchy melodies and riffs, lots of acoustic instruments and most of all: powerful lead vocals and harmonies. And of course, as the name reveals, Lena & The Slide Brothers proudly presented their two slide guitar players.

The band has played at several Finnish blues and roots music festivals as well as in clubs all over the country. When performing they will take you on a musical journey from Helsinki to New Orleans, up the river Mississippi to Memphis and further on. 

 Their second album "Shine your light" was released on March 22nd 2013. It  shows another, rougher side of this band. Powerful tunes, high voltage singing and the unique sound of twin electric slide guitars gives you a bluesy rollercoaster ride. The album was released in Finland, Sweden, Norway and Denmark.

Lena & The Slide Brothers on vuodesta 2009 alkaen yhdistellyt sujuvasti amerikkalaisia musiikillisia vaikutteita, joihin kuuluvat mm. blues, country, soul, bluegrass ja rock'n'roll. Yhtyeen debyyttilevy "Turn it on" ilmestyi kesäkuussa 2010. 

Pääkaupunkiseudulta tulevan bändin riveissä on kokeneita, laulutaitoisia soittajia. Pääosia näyttelevät Lena Lindroosin verevät laulutulkinnat, "veljesten"  iloittelu kielisoitinten parissa sekä monipuolinen repertuaari. Oman tuotannon lisänä kuullaan keikoilla versioita tarkoin valituista lainakappaleista.

Vuosien 2011-2012 aikana bändi  esiintyi klubikeikkojen lisäksi useilla kotimaisilla festareilla, mukaan lukien Puistoblues, Rauma Blues ja Lahden Grand Blues festivaali.

Maaliskuussa 2013 julkaistu albumi "Shine Your Light" esittelee yhtyeen rankemman puolen. Sähköisten slide-kitaroiden ja korkeaoktaanisen laulun vuoropuhelu johdattelee kuulijan läpi rosoisen äänimaiseman, herkkiä hetkiä unohtamatta. Levy julkaistiin Suomen lisäksi Ruotsissa, Norjassa ja Tanskassa.
